Rampage was released as part of the nineteenth series (2003), boxed as the driver for the Split Fire.

It was common practice for Hasbro to name and/or sculpt G.I.Joe characters after real-life individuals. Rampage was given the real name "Walter McDaniel" - a comic book artist who has done work for Hasbro with G.I.Joe box and package art.
