The Cobra Rifle Range Unit was first released boxed in U.S. toy stores in 1985. The Cobra Rifle Range Unit was also sold in 1986 and was discontinued in 1987.
It was also available via mail order in 1988 - 1990 as well as part of the Battlefield Accessories Set (along with the Ammo Dump Unit, Mortar Defense Unit and the Forward Observer Unit) from 1992 - 1993.

International Releases
In 1986, the Cobra Rifle Range Unit was sold in Argentina by Plastirama as the Unidad de Tiro Cobra.
In the 1990's, Rupiblas sold the Cobra Rifle Range Unit in Venezuela, also named the Unidad de Tiro Cobra.
The Rifle Range Unit was released in the Netherlands and other Western European countries.
