The Air Defense was first released boxed in U.S. toy stores in 1985. The toy was also sold in 1986 and was discontinued in 1987.
The Air Defense was also available via mail order as part of the Battle Station Set (along with the Cobra Bunker and Check Point) from 1988 - 1991.

Vehicle Construction
The vehicle mold was repainted or retooled for the following vehicles: This was the only usage of the Air Defense mold.
International Releases
The Air Defense was also sold internationally in Argentina by Plastirama as the Defensa Antiaerea.
