Full Details

Lady Jaye is talking to Flint in his room about the only photo on the wall. The photo is of him and his high school girlfriend at prom. He tells her that he has the photo on the wall as a reminder of what he gave up and what he is protecting.

Flint’s Flashback – Flint’s Dad left when he was 13 and his mother became a drunk. That same year he joined the swim team, where he was asked to swim the backstroke, he did it because the team needed it not because he wanted to swim that stroke. When he was 16 he got a car and took his mother to church meetings where he did his homework in the car in the parking lot. She died when he was 17, he then moved in with his grandparents.

At a briefing in the Las Vegas GI Joe headquarters, Firewall and Flint have just finished a briefing, Firewall ends it with a personal comment. She warns him about Chameleon and his growing relationship with her. She points out to him she can’t be trusted.

Flint’s Flashback – During his senior year in high school, he was already taking college courses at Washburn where he met Claire Austin. Claire was three years older than him and party girl. And he took her to prom (she is the girlfriend in photo on his wall). She partied so much she got kicked out of college. So after his high school graduation, he followed her to New Jersey where he enrolled in Rutgers. They eventually broke up and she married an older man, had a kid and a divorce. Flint graduated top of his class and was accepted as a Rhodes Scholar which took him to Oxford, England. During his summer travels in Europe he met Gianna in Prague; they traveled around Eastern Europe together, Flint got in lots of fights around her that she started, then she just disappeared

In the Gemini
Flint enters Billy’s room, where he is still recovering from his wounds and the coma. Flint points out to him that being the son of a former Cobra Commander puts him in very unique position. He points out to Billy that he won’t being leaving until he gives more information about his father. They stand looking out the window at the Las Vegas Strip.

Flint’s Flashback – After finishing at Oxford, he returned to America and enlisted in the Army. He felt that the world needed protecting and serving in the military would help him accomplish that personal mission. He joined Special Forces, which led him to joining the GI Joe team, and giving up his identity. Which eventually lead him to leading his team.

Flint is giving Chameleon (Erika Le Tene) weapons training. As it ends Chameleon moves in close to him saying “So is this your way of paying me back for saving your life last week? Because I was hoping you might have come up with something else for that.” Flint complete flustered just walks away, completely conflicted on what to do.

Later, on the roof of the Vegas Casino their headquarters is located in, Flint is meeting with Duke. He asks to be relieved of his command. He turns in his evaluations of his team. He gives Lady Jaye and Firewall the highest recommendations saying they can be placed anywhere and excel. Clockspring has become an argumentative problem but that behavior would be corrected if he was in different situation with more like minded people. Ronin is a great field agent and terrible team member. Billy is good kid who deserves better. And finally Tomax needs to be thrown in hole, he is extremely dangerous. Duke points out he forgot to give his evaluation of Chameleon. He points out that he is compromised with her, she needs help getting over the traumatizing events and should be removed immediately. His final conclusion is that his unit should be shut down and all reassigned to different places.

Duke agrees and leaves.
