Dublin, Gerry McCarthy is talking to Tina, the receptionist at Revanche Robotics’ visitor desk. He has a warrant to search the building but Tina is being difficult. She challenges the paperwork and demands more for what Snake Eyes and Roadblock are carrying.
Behind the building Scarlett tells Jinx they are to take 921 alive. She fires a grappling hook and they begin the climb to the third floor. They enter through a window and Gina is sitting at her desk. She radios a security breach calmly.
Downstairs two men with guns approach Gerry and the Joes. Since they are human and not cyborgs they are quickly dealt with. Tina, on the other hand, is.
Upstairs Gina sprouts a sword from her arm and swings at Scarlett giving her a haircut. Jinx is nearby assembling her weapon. Gina begins the arming sequence of her weapons. Jinx does not let her finish and slices off her arms. Scarlett then short circuits Gina with a Shuriken.
Downstairs Tina has revealed her arms to be machine guns. She fires at the Joes. Gerry shoots her in the head with a shotgun. This stops her and the Joes head quickly to take the elevator to the third floor.
Scarlett and Jinx enter the third floor assembly room only to find it is empty. Since there is no sign of a dime chip or any other evidence they go after 921.
Gerry, Roadblock and Snake Eyes battle a series of robots, each one progressively more dangerous. Scarlett and Jinx join the fight. Together they use shaped charges and a sledgehammer to destroy the robots one by one.
921 appears. Jinx recognizes her as the one who killed Pale Peony. (Issue 207) 921 says they will not defy the “creche.”
Seattle, Fred 172 is talking with his family, his wife says she wants to quit and start over. Fred says they will settle things after dinner and leaves. His daughter Chloe reports to Cobra that he wavered on the standard test.
921 takes on the four Joes and McCarthy. Scarlett leaps towards 921 stepping on her head. Scarlett has a shaped charge in her hand. 921 says the charge will not work on her. Scarlett keeps going past 921 towards the door of the creche.
921 has fear in her eyes as the door to the creche is blown open. Roadblock carries a sledge through the opening. 921 is distracted from her fight with Snake Eyes and Jinx. Snake Eyes drives her won glowing sword through 921’s eye. 921 continues to fight. A body with electrodes attached to her head is inside a sarcophagus in the creche. Scarlett realizes this is the real 921. 921 shakes off her attackers. She heads for the creche. She is too late as Roadblock brings the sledge down on the sarcophagus. 921 falls.
In the PIT, one week later Pale Peony’s ashes sit in a container on the briefing room table. Mainframe tells Psyche-Out, Duke and Snake Eyes that Joe Colton is about to brief Scarlett and Roadblock about the Revanche technology and what is in the PIT basement.
The eye is in a coma, they believe they can control it with another consciousness utilizing the tech from Dublin. They need a tactical and strategic mind with no earthly attachments such as relatives, heirs, etc. They have chosen Serpentor.
Something is in the air ducts of the PIT. A toy Bumblebee falls from the ceiling in the briefing room. Storm Shadow used it as a distraction so he could enter safely. He is there to return the ashes of Pale Peony to the Arashikage and “Dragon Granny” or Obake Obaasan.
Elsewhere Fred 191 is working late at the campaign headquarters of Wendy. He is interrupted by three members of Cobra, Scrap Iron, Copperhead, and Firefly.
