Alpine and Muskrat are ahead of the pursuing insurgents. Alpine carries the injured Dr. Burkhart. Ibrahim, the insurgent leader orders his sniper to fire on the Joes but spare Dr. Burkhart despite ordering her death last issue.
A hundred yards behind the insurgents, Torpedo and Long Range plan to attack. The sniper is shot, and Long Range shoots anyone who goes after the Dragunov sniper rifle on the ground.
Ibrahim, who is behind Torpedo and Long Range, presses forward. Hearing the shots, Muskrat and Alpine turn back towards the pursuing insurgents to help Torpedo and Long Range, they leave Dr. Burkhart behind. Alpine offers her a pistol. She says she won’t shoot the insurgents and Alpine says it is not for that, it is for her.
Long Range continues to pick off the enemy one by one. The insurgents leave their cover and Torpedo reacts by firing on the group. This causes them to flee and they head in the direction of Alpine and Muskrat. The sniper refuses to drop his weapon and Long Range shoots him.
The rest of the insurgents drop their weapons and are captured. Realizing they are just kids the Joes destroy the weapons with thermite and release their prisoners. Ibrahim, shoots the fleeing children with a Dragunov and warns his troops that the same fate will befall anyone who drops their weapons dishonorably.
The Joes go to where they left Dr. Burkhart. She is told that she would not want to know what happened back there. The Joes now head for the LZ. Ibrahim continues his pursuit. The Joes radio the Tomahawk once they are at the LZ.
Back in Fort Wadsworth, Scarlett orders Clutch to use the now worthless drone. Set to self destruct, the drone flies in among the insurgents, Ibrahim chooses to ignore it. The drone explodes killing all but Ibrahim.
Ibrahim shoots the radio and Torpedo has no way to wave off the arriving Tomahawk. Torpedo sends Alpine to wave them off. This presents Alpine as a target for Ibrahim. Dr. Burkhart, runs after Alpine telling him to get down and she takes the shot meant for him. Ibrahim now shoots at the Tomahawk cockpit and hits Wild Bill.
Inside the Tomahawk Lifeline examines Wild Bill. He says Wild Bill will go into shock and that they must abort. Lift Ticket is then hit. He brings in the Tomahawk contrary to Lifeline’s wishes. The Joes on the ground scramble. Muskrat tells Alpine to leave the body of Dr. Burkhart behind but Alpine refuses. He carries her saying “We don’t leave our own behind.”
Long Range and Alpine still have to board. Lift Ticket creates a dust cloud between the Joes and Ibrahim. He leaves his position of cover and fires on Alpine. He misses and hits the body of Dr. Burkhart. Seeing the muzzle flash, Long Range shoots Ibrahim.
Long Range is the last to board the Tomahawk. Once in flight safely away, Lifeline says he will take the body of Dr. Burkhart. Alpine refuses to let him. He states that she is not luggage to be tossed in a bag in the corner. He will stay with her until she makes it home.
In Springfield, There is a class reunion for the Crimson Guard alumni of the class of 82-94. Fred 172 from Seattle is in attendance. The special guest, Cobra Commander is in a wheelchair still suffering from the injuries that Road Pig gave him. He addresses all the Crimson Guards assembled before him. Each will have a role to play in the upcoming plan and none of them know what any other person’s role is. He tells the group they will all change the world forever. They let out a cry of “Cobraaaa!”
