Full Details

Lowest level of the Pit, Utah; After an accident with the elevator that opens hole in the wall Duke, Hardtop, and Clutch begin to investigate. They find a very large door that is as high as the tunnel.

Rock ‘N Roll is still woozy and Stalker suggests he and Clutch be sent to see Psyche Out for hypnosis.

Lauhar, Capital of Olliestan. (Laurel and Hardy Reference)

SOTD tech, a division of Revanche Robotics, Pale Peony and Jinx have taken jobs undercover in the plant. They are exceeding expectations and have caught the plant manager’s attention, as planned. He arranges to have them brought to his office. They lure him into a false sense of security by taking off their work uniform. Underneath they are wearing their ninja gear. They assault the manager in an attempt to get the access they need to a secret room in the plant.

Back at the Pit in the psych evaluation center Clutch and Rock ‘N Roll discuss possible hypnosis but Psyche Out is reluctant to try it. Then Clutch suggests that perhaps they have been run through the Brainwave scanner again. Airtight interrupts the session to let them know a special broadcast everyone is looking forward to is about to start in the mess hall. On the way to the mess hall Stalker asks Duke why he shut down the tunnel and sealed everything off. Duke replies that the PIt was built on an existing structure for a top secret project that was shut down.

In the Mess Hall the Joes anxiously await the broadcast, milling about. Reminiscing and talking about Grunt’s achievements.

It is a broadcast from Sierra Gordo, at the American Embassy. Reporter Dinah Lum introduces the dignitaries. Sofia Velez President of Sierra Gordo, U.S. Ambassador Huntley Pierce-Bryson and U.S. State Department Engineering Consultant Robert W. Graves.

A cheer goes up as Grunt’s name is announced.

Lum continues to list the dignitaries, Vice Chairman Fitz, K.T. Cheng, and Vassily Osenko, and finally Haydn Strawhacker, agricultural analyst. Haydn is the brother of HaydnStrawhacker (See Marvel Issue 104-106).

Grunt is called to the podium to explain a hydro-electric program. Grunt continues his speech on eliminating fossil fuels, his compatriots on the review stand do not look pleased. Then a laser spotter flashes on the Marine behind Grunt. The Marine is spared as the stand is attacked when Grunt pushes him out of the line of sight. The other Marines are hit by gunfire as some very large hooded individuals shoot. The Joes sit in stunned silence as events unfold before their eyes live. Grunt and the Marine fight the attackers. The others hurriedly leave in a limo, they push Dinah away. She does her job and continues to cover the firefight. Grunt shoots one of the attackers in the head with no results. The masked terrorists cut the transmission. The Joes in the Pit go into battle mode. Duke takes control of the chaotic situation and begins to prep a mission. Hawk is in with the Jugglers pleading the case to go in and rescue Grunt. They stall.

Back at the plant, after beating the information they needed out of the plant manager, Pale Peony and Jinx head down a long stairway. They wind up in a lab where they discover that Revanche is working on a program to duplicate the Blue Ninjas, but remove the organic component. When they are looking over the data they find that there is enough parts to build an army. they are corrected by an individual who looks eerily similar tho those who just attacked the U.S. Embassy in Sierra Gordo. He says they are not building an army but a number of armies composed of unstoppable troops.

Back in the Pit, Duke forms an Alpha Team and a Bravo Team. They plan to sit and wait just outside Mexican air space for the go signal.
