Erika Le Tene (aka Chameleon) is sitting next to a tree enjoying the day but trying to forget her past. It's been four years since she got away from both GI Joe and Cobra. (See Cobra Files #9) . A young man comes up to her, she is reading an intelligence file, he knows who she is and that he needs her skills and knowledge. He gives her a slight threat and drops a flash drive in her hand and hires her. She needs to head to Budapest in two days. She looks at the flash drive it has Japanese writing on it. And that is how she came to work for the Yakuza.
Snake Eyes is getting information from Erika Le Tene about Billy, Cobra Commander's son, for a mission he has been sent on by Destro. She has no idea where he would be but she suspects that Ronin, who has also disappeared, has to be with him. Plus, Ronin's considerable skills would have been the reason no one has found Billy. She hands over a few files that could help, but she doesn't have much information. An arrow flies through the window into her throat. Snake Eyes grabs her and jumps out the window. On the ground he hides her near a dumpster and slices an attacker. He grabs a propane tank launches it back into office they were just in. It starts a massive fire that catches two attackers on fire. He returns to Erika as she fades.
(See Cobra Special #2) Erika as a young girl in Chon Thahn is playing in a river as her guardian Pham calls to her. He reassures her that her mother loves her but can't visit cause she is in Europe.
She wakes up in a room all bandaged up with an IV. Snake Eyes has saved her. She wants to know who shot her. Using sign language and drawing the Arashikage symbol on a wall, she understands that the arrow was intended for Snake Eyes.
At an unknown dojo, two sword brothers are morning their dead brothers that Snake Eyes killed. Storm Shadow interrupts them telling them "I'll take care of Snake Eyes."
