Operation Blackout
Pictured is a 1988 "Operation Blackout" promotional advertisement that was mailed out by Hasbro Direct to their mailing list - presumably to addresses of people who'd ordered from them before.
The ad advertises vehicles and figure no longer sold in stores, along with a few mail-in exclusives.
The items available were the Firebat and
AVAC,
Sgt. Slaughter, the
SHARC, VAMP
Mark II, Tomax and
Xamot,
Bazooka, the Fridge, the Battle
Stations Set (Cobra Bunker,
G.I. Joe Air Defense, and
G.I. Joe Check Point), a G.I. Joe
Dog Tag, Serpentor with the
Air Chariot, the Vehicle Drivers set (Thunder, Copperhead, HISS Driver, Stinger Driver, Crankcase, and Frostbite),
the HISS, the
Polar Battle Bear, and the PAC Rat assortment (Missile
Launcher, Flame Thrower,
and Machine Gun). The ad also includes an order form to order a Steel Brigade action figure.
