2000 G.I.Joe Bootlegs

Because of their popularity, G.I.Joe action figures were often imitated by foreign toy companies, trying to cash in on G.I.Joe's popularity. The results were... interesting, to say the least.
Pictured above are two of the more brazen and obvious bootlegs. Based on the Real American Hero figures that were released in 2000, these figures are direct inferior copies of the 3 3/4" G.I.Joe figures. Note that even the packaging is a direct copy of the G.I.Joe artwork that was used on the 2000 and 2001 figures.
The figure on the left was created by copying Dial-Tone (v5) - the figure on the right was created by copying Dusty (v4). While the copycat molding did an capable job with the figure stands and accessories, the complex articulation is completely lost on the figures themselves. The figures were cheaply produced - poorly articulated and sloppily painted.
These particular bootlegs were found in a store in the Phillipines in 2001.
