G.I.Joe Possible Variations

1982

Cobra Missile Command Headquarters - some came with straight-arm figures, others with swivel-arm figures

MOBAT - 3 battery covers and additional combinations of body changes

VAMP - with & without the shovel molded onto the hood. While both of these definitely exist, the origin of the molded-on shovel is unknown. Some suspect that it could have been a foreign version, mail-in, or from the Sears boxed set. If you have more information regarding its origin, please let us know.

 

1983

Wild Bill - light green or dark green

 

Command Center Headquarters - with or without slats under accessory tray; dark gray or green/gray accessories

Polar Battle Bear - light gray or dark gray parts

Wolverine - some had a tow hook and others didn't; light or dark green

 

1984

Baroness - two versions of her file card

Cutter - eyes, eyebrows, and mustache that matches the hair or eyes, eyebrows, and mustache that are darker

Deep Six - Eyes and eyebrows that match his hair or are darker

Recondo - brown camouflage stripes or green stripes Also thick or thin brown camo?

Rip Cord - Light or dark hair.

Roadblock - helmet with holes or without

Spirit - with red face paint stripe across nose and cheekbones

Thunder - some came with a green helmet and headset that matched the green on his chest and some had a lighter coloured green helmet and headset.; retail file card and red-backed card.

Wild Weasel - reversed leg details

 

Bivouac - light green with dark gray accessories or dark green with light gray accessories

Killer W.H.A.L.E. - solid door/ramp for the sled, white wheels, and an od green body; door/ramp with a notched door/ramp, black wheels ,brownish green parts and dark gray parts; or door/ramp with a notched door/ramp, black wheels ,brownish green parts and light gray parts

M.A.N.T.A. - light or dark green on the sail

Missile Defense Unit - wall slightly darker gray without bullet holes

Rattler - dark blue, normal Cobra Blue, or a fairly bright blue

Water Moccasin - light or dark green

 

1985

Heavy Metal - some did not come with the mouthpiece

Sgt. Slaughter - different "USA" on shirt.

Frostbite - with light or dark tan

 

Armadillo - light or dark green

A.W.E. Striker - light or dark green

Bridge Layer - light or dark green

Cobra Night Landing - blue or slightly darker blue

Ferret A.T.V. - two shades of blue on the retail version (neither as light as the mail-in)

HALO Parachute Pack - light green (Made in China) or darker green (Made in Hong Kong)

Weapon Transport - dark green or light green. Also, the bomb is dark gray or light gray

Dr. Mindbender - One version has a Cobra symbol as a patch - the other version is an iron-on transfer.

The Fridge - various wrist band combinations

Lift Ticket - light red or dark red helmet
