Point Man and Bobcat

Code Name:

Spearhead and Max

India

Carded Figure

Figure Description

This special version of Spearhead and Max was available carded in India in 1995. G.I.Joe toys in India were produced by the Funskool toy company.

Accessories:

Spearhead and Max came with a black helmet, a gray rifle, a lime green backpack, a silver sword, and a brown bobcat.

The Indian Spearhead came with the same helmet as the U.S. version of Night Force Spearhead & Max (1989). However, the Indian Spearhead also came with the same rifle as the U.S. version of the original Spearhead & Max (1988). The sword, bobcat, and backpack are recolored from the U.S. versions.

Variations:

Spearhead was also available in a bagged version with no accessories, randomly inserted into Funskool produced vehicles. This version of Spearhead has fewer paint decorations.

Vehicle Spearhead

Body Construction:

The figure is made from the repainted waist of Quick Kick and the other parts repainted from Spearhead and Max (1988). It is colored to more closely resemble Night Force Spearhead & Max (1989).

However, the brown vest of the Indian Spearhead is much lighter than the U.S. version's dark brown vest. Also, the boots and belt are blue on the Indian version, while they are green and brown, respectively, on the U.S. version.

In addition, the Indian plastic used is of a lower quality.
