Series: Twelve (1993)
Blanka was released carded in the twelfth series (1993) as part of Capcom's Street Fighter 2 subset. The Street Fighter 2 figures were numbered 1 through 12 - Blanka was number 5.
He was discontinued domestically in 1994.
Blanka came with two purple rifles, a purple knife, an orange missile launcher (spring loaded, actually fired), two purple missiles, a black grappling hook, a black string, and a purple figure stand.
The grappling hook can be pulled apart into two component pieces.
Except for the grappling hook, string, and missile launcher, all of Blanka's accessories came attached to one plastic "tree." The accessories were removed from the tree.
No variations of Blanka (v1) are known to exist.
While Blanka had a new head, the chest, arms, waist, and legs were originally used to create Road Pig (1988).
The entire Blanka mold was also used to create Blanka (v2) (1993).
Versions of Blanka
A Street Fighter Movie version of Blanka was released in 1994, but the Street Fighter Movie figures are not considered G.I.Joe figures.
