Backblast (version 2) was released carded as part of the twelfth series (1993). The 1993 Battle Corps figures were numbered 1 through 36 - Backblast was number 22.
He was discontinued domestically in 1994.
He was later available bagged without accessories at the 1997 G.I.Joe Convention in Philadelphia.
Accessories
Backblast came with a black submachine gun, a black rifle, a black knife, a black missile launcher (spring loaded, actually fired), two black missiles, and a black figure stand.
Except for the missile launcher, all of Backblast's accessories came attached to one plastic "tree." The accessories were removed from the tree.

Variations
There are two versions of Backblast - one version has a large chest logo and the other version has a small chest logo.
Body Construction
Backblast's head, chest, waist, and legs were originally used to create the original Backblast (1989). The arms were originally used to create Topside (1990).
