The Baroness was first released carded as part of the third series (1984). She was available in 1985 and was discontinued domestically in 1986.

The spoiled offspring of wealthy European aristocrats, the Baroness graduated from student radicalism into international terrorism and finally into the ranks of COBRA. She was severely burned during a COBRA night attack operation and has had extensive plastic surgery. Rumor has it that she is the only one who knows Destro's secret identity. Qualified expert: M-16; AK-47; RPG7; Uzi; H.I.S.S. tank operator.
"Her principal weakness is in the division of her loyalty between COBRA Commander and Destro. Her chief strength would seem to lie in her ability to play them against each other."

Featured In
Baroness was featured in several of the various media of GI Joe through the years, including Trading Cards, Comic Books, Cartoons and Commercials.
Body Construction
The Baroness was made up of entirely original parts. The entire mold was re-used in 1997 to create Baroness (v2) and in 2000 to create Chameleon.
Note that the figure's head only turns left and right - it does not allow the head to look up and down. The heads only turned left and right until the the swivel ball head that was introduced in 1985 (Series Four).
International Releases
In Europe, the Baroness was sold in the mid-80s on Action Force cards.
Takara released the Baroness in Japan in 1986.
Later, the Baroness was produced in India made of slightly lower-quality plastic. Additionally, a much rarer version has been found with Baroness in red and black as Rednok. Rednok was a promotional Complan Commando figure produced for Complan Chocolate Health Drink. Note that Rednok's lower arms come from Lady Jaye (1985).
In Egypt, Nilco distributed a Funskool-produced Baroness.
