Primary Function: Incineration of G.I. JOE
Secondary Function: Self Destruction
This COBRA INFERNO B.A.T. is a standard issue Version 1 model that has been used to test an experimental metal matrix composite. Using an unstable energy source, HOTWIRE has designed its entire body to generate intense heat and fire. He has also updated the internal processing unit with increased aggressiveness programming. This makes it more combative in battle and also overrides any group awareness function. In other words, it will automatically burn or melt through any obstacle, even fellow troopers, to get a clear shot at its programmed target.
The COBRA INFERNO B.A.T. glows red-hot when activated, creating a terrifyingly demoralizing image to see on the battlefield, while making close quarters combat against it nearly impossible. If causing personnel and materials to spontaneously combust from the heat it gives off doesn't deter opposing forces, it uses an arsenal of hand-attachment weapons composed of refractory metals to destroy its target. Failing that, its power core eventually succumbs to its own thermodynamics and detonates, making its mission a one-way trip.
From HOTWIRE's journals: "This COBRA INFERNO B.A.T. will either melt G.I. JOE into the ground, or blow them to kingdom come!"
