Motto: "Whether calling for assistance or requesting an air strike, I always deliver loud and clear."
DIAL-TONE is an expert electronics repairman and holds the U.S. Army record for setting up a mobile satellite transmitter under battlefield conditions in less than three minutes. Not content with just bouncing messages off a tactical multi-channel communications satellite halfway around the glob, he prefers to be in the middle of the action. That's why he volunteered to be part of the G.I. JOE team. Growing up making all his own radio equipment prepared DIAL-TONE for frequent worst-case scenarios on the battlefield. If his radio gets damaged, he can cobble together the remains of bullet-ridden communication devices from enemy outposts. He knows that without radio contact, there are no reinforcements or evacuation. His ability to record, transmit, and receive messages under fire makes him a tremendous asset to the TIGER FORCE special operations unit.
No variations of Dial-Tone (v11) are known to exist.
