The Action Space Capsule was first released boxed in U.S. toy stores in 1994 as part of the Original Action Team set. Included in the set was Action Marine, Action Pilot (v2), Action Pilot Astronaut, Action Sailor (v2), and Action Soldier. The set was discontinued that same year.

Action Pilot Astronaut was available in the thirteenth series (1994) boxed in a G.I.Joe 30th Anniversary Original Action Team boxed set. The boxed set included the Action Soldier, Action Sailor (orange), Action Pilot (blue), Action Marine, and the Action Space Capsule. Action Pilot Astronaut piloted the Action Space Capsule.
Action Pilot Astronaut was discontinued in 1994.
