VAMP MARK II
Series:
The VAMP Mark II [Attack Vehicle] was first released boxed in U.S. toy stores in 1984. It included the driver, Clutch (v2). The VAMP Mark II was also sold in 1985 and was discontinued in 1986.
It was also available via mail order beginning in 1988 (without the driver).

Easily Broken/Lost Pieces
The Vamp Mark II is prone to missing the detachable water canisters and the steering wheel.
Variations
The mail-in version of the Vamp Mark II was different than the original retail version. The mail-in version was made of a lighter brown plastic, it included gas cans instead of water cans, and had other small color differences. This mail-in version was also molded in Brazil.
Additionally, when Hasbro released the Tiger Sting and the mail-away Vamp Mk II four years later, they made some changes to the parts that attached to the body. The roof panel is slightly different and the missile launcher box was revised to add two vertical stems on the non-vent side of the missile box. Thus, they altered the blueprints and instructions to indicate the vent side of the assembled missile box facing upwards. Because the mail-away version of the Vamp Mk II uses the '89 Tiger Sting body and parts molds, we have chosen to build and photograph the mail-away version the same as the Tiger Sting instructions.
