The Skystorm X-Wing Chopper was first released boxed in U.S. toy stores in 1988. It included a pilot, Windmill. The Skystorm X-Wing was also available in 1989 and was discontinued in 1990.

Windmill was released as part of the seventh series (1988), packaged exclusively with the Skystorm X-Wing Chopper. He was also sold in 1989, then was discontinued domestically in 1990.
