The Mean Dog was first released boxed in U.S. toy stores in 1988. It included the driver, Wild Card. The Mean Dog was also available in 1989 and discontinued in 1990.

Wild Card was released as part of the seventh series (1988), packaged exclusively with the Mean Dog heavy assault vehicle. He was also sold in 1989, then was discontinued domestically in 1990.
