Series:
The Cobra Night Raven S³P was first released boxed in U.S. toy stores in 1986. It included the pilot, Strato-Viper. The toy was also sold in 1987 and was discontinued domestically in 1988.
Driver/Pilot: STRATO-VIPER (v1)
Strato-Viper was released as part of the fifth series (1986), packaged exclusively with the Cobra Night Raven. He was also sold in 1987, then was discontinued domestically in 1988.
In 1989, the Strato-Viper was available mail-order from Hasbro Direct as part of the "Special Missions Drivers" set with Ace, Thunder, Lampreys, Keel-Haul, and Motor-Viper. In 1991 and 1992, Strato-Viper was available from Hasbro Direct as part of the "Cobra Patrol Unit" with Motor-Viper and a FANG helicopter.

On the Night Raven S³P, the missiles and bombs are small and easily lost.
Featured In
The Cobra Night Raven S³P was featured in several of the various media of GI Joe through the years, including Trading Cards, Comic Books, Cartoons and Commercials.
Variations
Some versions of the Night Raven S³P had a landing gear notch - others did not. Also, some versions of the cockpit base had an extra notch to hold the cockpit seats down - others did not.
