The Sentry Missile System was first released as a Sears Exclusive in 1985. The toy was also listed in the 1986 Sears Catalog and discontinued shortly afterwards.
Strangely, the catalog incorrectly names this item as the H.I.S.S.

On the Sentry,
the cannons can be elevated and held up by two tiny pins underneath where the guns attach to the turret. If the pins break, then the guns will droop and will not stay up when elevated.
On the Missile System,
take extra care with the rocket pod that holds the three missiles - it snaps onto the turret and can sometimes be found broken off. Also, the console and support stand are frequently missing. |

No known variations of the S.M.S. are known to exist.
