Easily Broken/Lost Pieces:

The Killer W.H.A.L.E. included numerous pieces that were easily lost or broken. They include the white rockets, the depth charges, the steering flaps on both fans, the recon bike, and the sled.

Variations:

The landing ramp for the one-man sled was changed several times. The first version of the Killer W.H.A.L.E. had a solid door - this version may not have reached stores and may only have been seen in prototypes and publicity photos. The next version featured a large notch at the top of the launch door but still had a problem with breaking. A third design was used with the Night Striker and with mail-in versions of the Killer W.H.A.L.E.
