1990 Figures - 1 (w/command rings tag)

An unusual pair of commercials, this commercial uses live-action footage of Sgt Slaughter with animated footage of the Cobra Overlord to introduce the 1990 series of new action figures.

This commercial specifically introduces pictures of and original Sunbow animation of Bullhorn, Capt Grid-Iron, Sub-Zero, Rock-Vipers, and Night Creepers.

It concludes with a short tag advertising the G.I.Joe and Cobra Command Rings - that were included free in specially marked G.I.Joe packages.



1990 Figures - 2 (w/command rings tag)

An alternate version of the above commercial, this ad features a slightly different edit and a completely different group shot of the figures.



Cobra Rage, Dictator with Overlord (w/command rings tag)

The 1990 commercials had the slogan "Get G.I.Joe Tough" at the beginning and end of commercials.

This commercial introduces the toys of the Cobra Rage tank, the Cobra Dictator tank, and the Cobra Overlord action figure. It also includes original Sunbow animation.

It concludes with a short tag advertising the G.I.Joe and Cobra Command Rings - that were included free in specially marked G.I.Joe packages.



Cobra Rage

This commercial reuses the Cobra Rage footage of the previous ad, editing out any mention of the other vehicle.



Cobra Piranha, G.I.Joe Locust (w/command rings tag)

This commercial introduces the vehicles of the Cobra Piranha and the G.I.Joe Locust - along with the action figures of Undertow and Freefall.

It also includes original Sunbow animation.

It concludes with a short tag advertising the G.I.Joe and Cobra Command Rings - that were included free in specially marked G.I.Joe packages.



G.I.Joe Sky Patrol

The 1990 commercials had the slogan "Get G.I.Joe Tough" at the beginning and end of commercials.

This commercial introduces the figures and vehicles from the Sky Patrol.



Hammer, Hurricane

This commercial introduced the Hammer and Cobra Hurricane. In addition to using the "Get G.I. Joe Tough" slogan, this spot also re-used the theme of shrinking kids down to the size of the toys.



General

This commercial introduced the G.I.Joe General. This is another commercial that shrinks kids down to the size of the toys.

Another version of the G.I.Joe General commercial, with a different shot of the toy at the end.



Avalanche, Hurricane

This commercial advertised the G.I. Joe Avalanche, pitting it against Cobra's Hurricane.



Hammerhead, Retaliator

Combat Pay announcements

In 1990, specially marked G.I.Joe packages came with "G.I.Joe Combat Pay". The pay came in denominations of anywhere from $5 to $10,000. There were also paystubs that could be redeemed for prizes if the winning number was announced in the Combat Pay commercials. This commercial introducing the promotion features Michael Bell as Duke. Other Combat Pay commercials were made up from clips from other G.I.Joe cartoons and commercials, and usually ran during the DIC G.I.Joe cartoon.
