Toyfare and Zartan

We've always been big fans of Toyfare magazine - it's a great magazine and they're big fans of G.I.Joe. And Toyfare has done it again.

Toyfare #38 lists the top 25 action figures of all time - from the 1970s to today. The story is extensively illustrated with shots of each toy and the features that made them winners. #7 greatest action figure of all time is Zartan.

Issue #38 of Toyfare should be on newsstands by the end of August. Keep your eyes out for it!

  • Introducing the Yo Joe! Store and WHOBIT

Among the many new things added today to Yo Joe!, we wanted to point out two new items in particular.

First is the Yo Joe! store. You demanded it - a way to get useful G.I.Joe collectors supplies that aren't easily obtained elsewhere coupled with the convenience of online purchasing.

Second is WHOBIT (Whose Helmet Or Backpack Is This?). With thousands of different 3 3/4" accessories, sometimes it's hard to figure out that G.I.Joe backpack or gun you found. Use WHOBIT to help you i.d. it quickly.

A big hearty YO JOE! to everyone who've helped us and supported us over the years.

  • New Joes in 2000

Hasbro has quietly announced in the G.I.Joe Collector Club newsletter that there will be new 3 3/4" G.I.Joe figures released this fall.

The toys will be available in stores everywhere and will not be store exclusives. Figures will be sold in two-packs. Five two-packs will be sold - three G.I.Joe and two Cobra. Each two-pack will come with 6-8 accessories.

Originally, the only vehicle announced to be released was a re-release of the M.O.B.A.T. with Thunderwing and Heavy Duty. Rumors then circulated that other vehicles would also be released. Now according to Figures.com, Hasbro has told them to also expect a Dragonfly helicopter and a C.U.D.A. Submarine with Lampreys. Figures.com also says that the toys will be released this September. ToyFare Magazine's print edition #36 reveals that the names have been changed to the Locust helicopter with Wild Bill and the Man-O-War sub with Lampreys.
