Filecard Information

File Name: Classified
Birthplace: Unknown
Primary Specialty: Air-driver swamp vehicle operator

It is presumed that Copperhead is native to or otherwise intimately familiar with the Florida Everglades. Intelligence sources venture a guess that he raced speedboats in high stakes races in Monaco and Japan. His major weakness is gambling. Odds are that he got started by placing bets on his own races. Apparently he compounded his folly by selling his services to COBRA in hopes of paying off his bookies.

Gung-Ho says: "Sure. I know the type. They're all around the Gulf Coast. Trash. Drifters. They can drive a swamp buggy like the devil himself, rebuild a V-8 with a coat hanger and spit, fight all night and raise cain 'til the cock crows. They got a heart fulla gimme and a mouth full o' much obliged..."

Variations

Copperhead came in two different versions. The early versions of Copperhead came with dark green paint on the helmet, gloves, and legs - later versions had light green paint. The variation has become known as dark green gloves and light green gloves Copperheads.

The dark green gloves Copperhead is the more difficult one to find.

Body Construction

Copperhead's body mold is entirely original and not made up from previous molds.

Copperhead's entire body mold was re-used in 1989 for the Python Copperhead.

Note that the figure's head only turns left and right - it does not allow the head to look up and down. The heads only turned left and right until the swivel ball head was introduced in 1985 (Series Four).
