Flint, the October Guard, and the Tucaros have reached what used to be a rainforest. Darklon is closing in on them. Wild Bill arrives in the one man Locust chopper and engages Destro's Razorbacks but is soon shot down. Stretcher and Hot Seat arrive by train in the Raider. They battle the Razorbacks as well and rendezvous with Flint. Wild Bill takes the gunner seat on the Raider. Everyone else piles aboard wherever they can fit. It is another ten miles to the border, the Tucaros choose to stay behind. Meanwhile in Borovia, Snake eyes and the White Clown are on a mission, they are heading to the Gulag, Snake Eyes to find George Strawhacker, and the White Clown to find his Magda. We soon see the Raider has a few tricks up its sleeve, Hot Seat traverses the guns to face rearward and surprises the Razorback drivers. The Tucaros hijack a Razorback for their own use. In New York, Hawk is at Scarlett's bedside, she has come out of a coma, only to learn that Snake Eyes has gone on a mission to Borovia. Snake Eyes went because Storm Shadow arranged the mission to get his mind off what everyone thought was Scarlett's imminent death. Storm Shadow put Snake Eyes in an Arashikage mind set, turning him into a killing machine. General Crowther, a Juggler, meanwhile has Storm Shadow and Stalker tied up in the torch of the Statue of Liberty. The Raider is still being pursued, its main guns are now empty, and Hot Seat takes it into a ravine to avoid the Razorbacks. The Razorbacks follow in a parallel ravine. They too have a hidden capability; they raise their turrets and are ready to fire into the opposite ravine. The Raider still has another surprise as well; it rises up revealing a missile rack which dispatches the two Razorbacks at their side. However the Raider is now completely out of ammo, and Darklon, in the D.E.M.O.N. figures he has easy prey. He prepares to fire and is stopped when a Razorback commandeered by Tucaros destroys his D.E.M.O.N. The Tucaros take Darklon prisoner as he will make a handy bargaining chip in the fight to preserve the remaining forest. Snake Eyes has reached his objective. He is unstoppable. The White Clown and Orlovsky watch from afar with binoculars. Orlovsky tells the White Clown Magda wouldn't want this and would not approve of his behavior. A chopper flies in overhead and lands at the Gulag. Inside we find Metz who has political ambitions, and Major Bludd. Major Bludd, sniper rifle in hand, reveals he has been sent by the Jugglers to kill Snake Eyes. Summary by Ted Jacobson | |
