The North coast of Spain near Gijon, Scarlett is in the back of van with three members of the Borovian Liberation Front (BLF) who have just discovered that she is an American spy. The BLF is a group of thugs who committed war crimes and escaped to the underground all over Europe. Petar and Milo are currently holding her as Radovan attempts to cut off one of her fingers. Scarlett elbows Petar and kicks Milo, the driver Slobodan calls back asking what is happening. As Radovan fires at Scarlett she pulls Petar in front of her. The bullets protect her as she advances and punches Radovan. Milo recovers and attacks with a knife. She quickly beats him with a chop to the throat. As Radovan raises his gun she knocks him off balance and he fires off a shoot that hits Slobodan in head killing him which then causes the van to crash into a wall. Another van pulls up on the crashed van as three CIA agents get out, they had been following the BLF members trying to discover the same thing Scarlett is and that is what is their next terrorist target. Chip, Trip and John John stop Scarlett from killing Radovan and Milo. After everything is pacified Duke & Heavy Duty arrive to claim the captured men. In Nevada at the newly acquired Pit, a bus arrives carrying several tech personnel, Rock 'n' Roll opens the door and introduces them to The Pit. Stalker checks them in and Hawk arrives to brief them. He reminds them they have signed confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements and since they are all ex-military they should understand that everything they see is ultra secret and they will be paid in cash. And that what they are doing is to help protect America. Back in Spain, Radovan and Milo are tied up and held at gun point by both the CIA and the Joes. An agreement is made, the Joes will give the CIA agents there own time to interrogate the prisoners. Scarlett pulls up on the BLF members computer a file on a planned event called Saeva Indignatio. At The Pit, Hawk has tasked Breaker with setting up the communications system. Rock 'n' Roll is helping. But he needs more help. He makes a joke that even Snake Eyes knows more then Rock 'n' Roll. Stalker who is supervising says that Snake Eyes left The Pit to return some borrowed items. At a motel on the other side of Nevada (see Origins #3), Snake Eyes has handed the new motel front desk clerk a note asking about the former front desk manager Bob Light. She responses that the motel has been vacant for two years and she just recently reopened it last week. She doesn't know of any previous manager but she does hand him a book that was left on the front desk. The book "The Portable Sun Tsz" has two lines underlined they are "Weapons are instruments of ill fortune and should be utilized as a last resort. The superior man subdues the enemy without fighting." In The Pit, Breaker explains why he is having trouble getting the computer system up and running. Chimera the former resident of The Pit (seeOrigins #5), a computer mad genius set all kinds of virus traps and even some real ones connected to explosives that Breaker has had to dismantle or fix. Plus, a lot of the computer technology is just old and slow. Again, he reminds Hawk that he needs a lot more help to get this old facility up and running as it should be. Above The Pit, a coyote/wolf is investigating the only above ground structure. Snake Eyes arrives with a leaf blower which is covering the tracks of the arrival of his vehicle. The wolf jumps up at him as he enters it runs off into the desert as Snake Eyes takes the elevator down. Hawk greets him saying that he has been working on a custom set of BDU's (battle dress uniform) for him. At an American Embassy in Europe, three female employees arrive to be the late shift cleaning staff. The embassy guards are familiar with them even making a few small jokes as the cleaning crew goes through the security entrance. A little later Nadia receives a phone call. In Spain, the CIA is trying to get information on how to cancel the terrorist mission Saeva Indignatio that is supposed to start in two minutes. Neither Milo nor Radovan are even speaking in response. The phone called Nadia received came from Esau saying "Saeva Indignatio is a go", Nadia and her female cleaning crew pull out concealed guns. She walks up to the guards and shoot them. As her fellow crew members spread out killing anyone left in the Embassy. One of her crew brings in an unexpected late night worker and she just executes him. She then calls Esau and confirms that the Embassy has been captured and he tells her that the next shift, his code word for back up, is arriving now. Summary by Josh Eggebeen | ||
