In The Pit, Dial Tone and Shareware, lead by Hawk, are communicating with Snake Eyes, who is driving a stolen Cobra vehicle, which he and Helix are using to escape from the just destroyed Section Zero, which held the MASS Device.
Snake Eyes, who is communicating by typing as he is driving, asks for help. Shareware asks him to identify the vehicle that he is in. Now his tank like vehicle is currently on an ice flow that is sinking and he is driving up it to avoid the water, but is losing traction. Helix is bleeding as she holds her gun on the captured Copperback and Dr. Orizama.
After figuring out what vehicle they are in, Shareware then begins given Snake Eyes directions on it's options. The water is starting to leak into the vehicle as it slips further into the water. Snake Eyes fires two rockets with cables attached to them into the snow pack and uses the wenches to drag the vehicle out of the water and to safety. Both cables snap but the vehicle gets on the main ice flow, Helix drops here gun in the chaos and Dr. Orizama picks it up and points it at Snake Eyes head.
Shareware thinks he can operate the vehicle by remote and connects into by the uplink.
At Cobra Section Prime, the Baroness is very upset at the loss of the MASS Device, Destro says he will rebuild it. The Baroness questions him if it is for Cobra or himself, his answer is both. Then she orders all remain Cobras to return to find Dr. Orizama, who is believed to be sinking with the Section Zero facility.
With Shareware driving, Snake Eyes easily disarms Dr. Orizama but Copperback has gotten the very weak Helix and holds a gun to her head. Once Snake Eyes holds Dr. Orizama, Copperback fires at Snake Eyes killing Dr. Orizama. Helix stabs Copperback in the arm so she drops the gun.
Outside the returning Cobra vehicles head towards them. Shareware and Dial Tone start attacking the on coming Cobra vehicles. He blows up a couple with missiles, runs over another, takes several damaging hits and then orders Snake Eyes and Helix to find alternative transport. Shareware is having fun blowing up the Cobras and his vehicle is slowing winning but taking heavy damage.
In a plane above the fight, Iceberg leads a Joe team out the back as they parachute into the action.
Snake Eyes and Helix escape but they leave behind Copperback.
Copperback reports into the Baroness that Dr. Orizama was killed by a "some madman with sword who cut him down." A lie. Copperback also reports that it was only 2 Joes that attacked the base. This adds more devastating feelings onto the Baroness. Destro walks in telling her that Cobra Commander is requesting her presence. In the Cobra library, The Commander regrets the loss of the MASS device and has already moved onto the next task for the Baroness. It is called Section 20 and it is an island in the disputed chain between Japan and Russia, he tells her that they are leaving in 20 minutes. She asks about Section Sabine, the Commander's answer is the same as before "They understood the chance they took."
Three weeks later, Scarlett and Mainframe are monitoring the Cobranet which has picked up its traffic dramatically. Intermixed with the rumors of a nuclear explosion is a signal that was repeated three times "The Commander is Dead." (See Cobra Issue #12 & Cobra Issue #13 for these events.)
And they also received a distress signal from some strange coordinates. They redirect the Hubble space telescope to look at the Moon, which is where the coordinates originated. For the first time the Joes see Section Sabine, the Cobra base on the Moon. And next to the base is a message written in the dirt. "Help Us".
