Another version of Duke was featured in an earlier concept for a boxed
figure set. It featured a completely different paint scheme as pictured
above.
Action figures usually start as "Hard Copies". These models
are used to create the molds, that are used to press out a run of "First
shots" or "Test shots". These test shots are done in
many different colors and lack a date stamp until the production run
begins. Because this first shot was pressed from an existing mold, it
has a date stamp. On the inside of the left leg is a date stamp "1988
Hasbro". On the seat of his pants is "Made in India - Funskool".
