Law

Description:

G.I.Joe figures usually began as resin hard copies. These resin models were used to create the molds. The molds were used to press out a run of "First shots" or "Test shots". These test shots were done in many different colors. A few of these test shots were then carded - sometimes known as "Salesman's Samples".

Pictured above is a rare carded test shot of Law (v3). The prototype is molded in several colors and the entire figure is unpainted.

What also makes this figure special is that it's carded on DEF (Drug Enforcement Force) packaging. Six 1993 G.I.Joe figures (including Law) were to be released on DEF packaging, but Hasbro changed the packaging and released these figures in the U.S. on normal Battle Corps packaging instead.

Additional Images:

Pictured above is a preproduction Law (1993) as the figure appeared in a Hasbro product catalog. The helmet elbows are the most notable difference, being gray rather than blue.
