Cesspool

Description:

Pictured above is and early version of Cesspool (1991) as the figure appeared in a Hasbro product catalog.

The most notable difference when compared to the produced Cesspool is the inclusion of lower leg blade accessories that were also depicted in the Impel trading cards. Also, there is gold detail on the left forearm and lower legs, the Cobra logo is orange, and the symbol on the left arm is not present.

It is unknown why the blade accessories were not included.

Additional Images:

Pictured above is an additional Hasbro product image. The most notable difference is the drastic sludge pattern (which does not appear to utilize color-changing paint).

G.I.Joe figures usually began as resin hard copies. These resin models were used to create the molds. The molds were used to press out a run of "First shots" or "Test shots". These test shots were done in many different colors and lacked a date stamp until the production run began.

The prototype is molded in several colors and the entire figure is unpainted. Like many test shots, there is no date stamp on the figure.
