Pictured above is a preproduction version of Storm Shadow as the figure appeared on Hasbro's official website. It was intended to be released as a part of a third wave of Mission Discs, but was cancelled and this version of Storm Shadow was never produced.

While this figure closely resembles Storm Shadow (v7) (2002), note that this would have introduced the retooled o-ring articuulation that was later used to create Cobra Ninja Trooper (2004).

Another interesting point to note is that much like the original prototype revealed for Storm Shadow (v7) (2002), this figure features the forearms of Snake Eyes (v10) (2002) with reversed hinge construction. It is therefore likely not a coincidence that Cobra Ninja Trooper used Snake Eyes (v10) forearms when the figure was produced.
