While several Snake Eyes test shots have become available to collectors,
it is likely that these were produced in quantity by the workers at
the factory where G.I. Joe figures are produced, rather than actually
being created at Hasbro's request. It should be noted that these Snake
Eyes figures use different arms (S.A.W.
Viper upper arms, Shockwave
v3 forearms) and are likely very close to the final parts of would have
been released. Note that the arms pictured on the hand-painted Snake
Eyes are the same mold as Firefly
(1984).
A more noteworthy point regarding these test shots is the fact that
the head of Snake Eyes has been altered to be compatible with the Crimson
Guard torso, indicating that preperation for these figures was relatively
far along when they were cancelled.
It should also be noted that this test shot does not have a date stamp,
indicating that it predates the production of the mail-in Agent Faces.
