Ovaltine G.I.Joe Megapromo
Image Close-Up
In 1987, Hasbro teamed up with the people of Ovaltine to create a contest that tied in with both the G.I.Joe action figures, but also the Commando Attack Board Game.
Pictured above is an insert from a magazine, promoting the contest. This side of the insert promotes the contest, including the many prizes available. The other side had a replica of the G.I.Joe Commando Attack Game. However, the "Cobra" and "G.I.Joe" supply depots were replaced with "Ovaltine" supply depots.
Ovaltine jars and tins sold that year included a free G.I.Joe sticker. There were also free "cut & color" G.I.Joe behind the Ovaltine paper labels. They could be used as game pieces in the Commando Attack Board Game.
