Indiana Jones
In 2008, Hasbro created a line of action figures based on the popular Indiana Jones movies. Though the primary push of the line was as a tie-in to that summer's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the line itself covered all four movies.
Unfortunately, retailers greatly overestimated demand for these toys. Overstocking the first two waves, toys languished in stores, preventing the turnaround needed to place newer figures onto the pegs. By the end of the year, the line was effectively dead.
This did not stop Hasbro from using some of these molds in their G.I. Joe line, however. The prime examples would be Cobra Commander (v33a) and Cobra Commander (v33b).
