Commando Force

Image Close-Up

At the height of its popularity, G.I.Joe action figures were often imitated by other toy companies, trying to cash in on G.I.Joe's popularity. The results were interesting, to say the least.

Pictured above is an advertisement from the 1987 Sears Gift Catalog picturing Commando Force - a series of G.I.Joe-like action figures and playsets.

Note that the figures are extremely similar to the Remco Sgt. Rock and American Defense action figures. So in reality, the Commando Force figures could be described as "bootlegs" of an "imitation".
