Bootleg - "Action Hero"

Image Close-Up

At the height of its popularity, G.I.Joe action figures were often imitated by foreign toy companies, trying to cash in on G.I.Joe's popularity. The results were... interesting, to say the least.

Pictured above is one of the figures from "Action Hero" - a generic toy line of (and I use the term loosely) action figures. They were of poor quality, poor articulation, and were blatant copies of G.I.Joe figures.

Note that the artwork is a cheap imitation of the artwork from the 1987 Chuckles action figure art. The accessory is a cheap remolding from the submachine gun that was packaged in 1986 with Dial-Tone.

All the accessories that came with the toyline were remolds of G.I.Joe accessories.
