COBRA INFANTRY TROOPER
Series: Thirteen (1994)
Viper was released carded in the thirteenth series (1994) as part of the Battle Corps subset. The Battle Corps figures were numbered 1 through 13 - Viper was number 5.
Viper was discontinued in 1994.
Viper came with three different red guns, a red knife, a yellow missile launcher (spring loaded, actually fired), two red missiles, and a red figure stand.
Except for the missile launcher, all of Viper's accessories came attached to one plastic "tree." The accessories were removed from the tree.
There are two variants of Viper's packaging and filecard. The earlier first variant featured the G.I.Joe logo horizontally at the top of the card. The filecard on the back of the packaging was the "standard" size. The later second variant featured the G.I.Joe logo vertically on the left side of the card and the filecard was reduced down to "baseball card" size.
In addition, the standard size filecard had a variation of its own - some cards had additional manufacturing text along the bottom right, while others did not.
Viper's body is entirely original - no parts were taken from other figures.
