30th Anniversary Boxed Set

Action Soldier's Filecard

Figure Description:

Action Soldier was available individually boxed in the thirteenth series (1994).

He was also available in a G.I.Joe 30th Anniversary boxed set. The boxed set included the Action Marine, Action Sailor (orange), Action Pilot (blue), and Action Pilot Astronaut.

Action Soldier was discontinued in 1994.

Versions of Action Soldier:

This was the only version of Action Soldier ever released.

Accessories:

The individually boxed Action Soldier came with a brown rifle, a brown handgun, a green backpack, a green missile launcher (spring loaded, actually fired), a brown missile, and a five-piece brown wall. [SEE VARIATIONS BELOW]

Except for the backpack and missile launcher, all of Action Soldier's accessories came attached to two plastic "trees". The accessories were removed from the tree.

Variations:

The Action Soldier included with the G.I.Joe 30th Anniversary boxed set came with accessories in black. This Action Soldier came with a black rifle, a black handgun, a green backpack, a green missile launcher (spring loaded, actually fired), a black missile, and a five-piece black wall.

Except for the backpack and missile launcher, all of Action Soldier's accessories came attached to two plastic "trees". The accessories were removed from the tree.

The serial numbers on the bottom of Action Soldier's feet were made in two different ways. One version had them printed directly on the figure's brown boot. The other version had the bottom of the boot painted black before the serial number was applied.

Body Construction:

Action Soldier shares his upper arms, lower legs, and upper left leg with G.I.Joe (1994).  The upper arms were also shared with Action Marine, while the upper left leg with Action Pilot, G.I.Joe, and Action Marine. The head mold was shared with Action Marine.

While not an action figure, in 1998 the mold was used to create the Action Soldier Keychain.
