Shipwreck's Filecard

Figure Description:

Shipwreck was released carded in the thirteenth series (1994) as part of the Battle Corps subset. The Battle Corps figures were numbered 1 through 13 - Shipwreck was number 7.

Shipwreck was discontinued in 1994.

Accessories:

Shipwreck came with three black guns, a black knife, a black airmask, two black flippers, a gray missile launcher (spring loaded, actually fired), two black missiles, and a black figure stand.

Except for the airmask, flippers, and missile launcher, all of Shipwreck's accessories came attached to one plastic "tree". The accessories were removed from the tree.

Variations:

There were two variants of the Shipwreck action figure. The first variant has black highlights on the figure's upper arms. The second variant does not. The variant without highlights is pictured above.

There are also two variants of the packaging. The earlier first variant featured the G.I.Joe logo horizontally at the top of the card. The filecard on the back of the packaging was the "standard" size. The later second variant featured the G.I.Joe logo vertically on the left side of the card and the filecard was reduced down to "baseball card" size.

Body Construction:

Shipwreck's waist and legs were originally used to create the original Wet-Suit (1986). The head, chest, and arms were original.

The entire mold was re-used in 1998 to create Shipwreck (v3) and in 2002 to create Shipwreck (v4).
