Series: Twelve (1993)
Payload (version 3) was released carded as part of the twelfth series (1993) as part of the Star Brigade subset.
He was discontinued domestically in 1994.
Payload came with three pink guns, a pink knife, a gold missile launcher (spring loaded, actually fired), two pink missiles, and a pink figure stand.
Except for the missile launcher, all of Payload's accessories came attached to one plastic "tree." The accessories were removed from the tree.
Birthplace: Cape Canaveral, Florida
Primary Specialty: Space Shuttle Astronaut
Secondary Specialty: F-4 Phantom Pilot
At some point, carded Payload figures had a change made to the back of the card. One cardback has a picture of a painted Payload prototype among the six Star Brigade figures - the other cardback has the corrected Payload figure among the six Star Brigade figures.
Early publicity photos of Payload v3 (and the filecard art) depict Payload being made of the same mold as Payload (v1) and Payload (v2). However, Hasbro apparently lost the mold and used the Barbecue mold instead.
In Canada, Payload was released in dual-language packaging.
In Europe, this version of Payload was released boxed as the Cobra pilot of the Cobra Invader.
