Roadblock's Filecard

Figure Description:

Roadblock (version 4) was released carded as part of the eleventh series (1992). That year, Roadblock was recalled because the accessories were considered dangerous.

The following year in 1993, the exact same Roadblock (v4) was re-released with new accessories. He was discontinued in 1994.

Versions of Roadblock:

Accessories (Recalled Version - 1992):

Originally, Roadblock came with a black machine gun, a black knife, a blue disk launcher (spring loaded, actually fired), a black disk, and a black figure stand.

The spring loaded disk launcher caused Hasbro to recall Roadblocks with these accessories. The official Hasbro reason is that the disk launchers broke too easily - however, some collectors believe that it was because the spring loaded disk launcher was too powerful.

Accessories (After Recall - 1993):

After the recall, Roadblock came with a black plastic "tree" of weapons - including two rifles, a pistol, a knife, 2 missiles, and a figure stand - and a light blue missile launcher (spring loaded, actually fired).

Variations:

There are two versions of Roadblock (v4) - with the disk launcher, and without. Roadblock with the disk launcher is much harder to find than the one without.

Body Construction:

Roadblock's body is entirely original - no parts were taken from other figures.

Roadblock's entire mold was re-used later that year to create Roadblock (v5) (1993). Roadblock's head was used on Roadblock (v6) (1993) and Roadblock (v7)
