G.I. JOE OZONE REPLENISHER TROOPER
Series: Ten (1991)
Ozone was released carded as part of the tenth series (1991) as part of the Eco-Warriors subset. He was discontinued domestically in 1992.
It was common practice at Hasbro among the toy makers to sculpt action figures to look like real life individuals - including employees of Hasbro.
Ozone was named after David Kunitz, a member of the G.I. Joe design team working for Hasbro at the time of this figure's release.
Ozone came with a green "vacuum" gun, a blue and yellow helmet, a green water rifle (that fired water) attached to an orange hose, and a green and yellow backpack (that held water).
Birthplace: Three Mile Island, Pennsylvania
Primary Specialty: Environmental Health Specialist
Secondary Specialty: Chemical Laboratory Specialist
No variations of Ozone (v1) are known to exist.
Ozone's body is entirely original - no parts were taken from other figures. The entire body mold was later re-used to create Ozone (v2), Ozone (v3), and Ozone (v4).
Like all the Eco-Warriors figures, spots on Ozone were covered with a special color-change plastic. When the figure was hit with water, the plastic changed colors to simulate "battle damage."
