Figure Description:
General Hawk (v2) was released carded as part of the tenth series (1991) as part of the Talking Battle Commanders. He was discontinued domestically in 1992.
|
Versions of General Hawk:
In 1991 Hawk was renamed "General Hawk", in 2000 renamed "General Tomahawk", in 2004 renamed "General Abernathy", and in 2008 renamed "G.I. Joe Hawk". So while there are several names, they are all based on the character "Hawk".
|
Accessories:

General Hawk came with a gold revolver, a gold rifle, a gold antenna (that fit into a hole on the backpack), and a black figure stand.
The gold backpack was permanently attached to the back of the figure and could not be removed (except with a screwdriver, see BODY CONSTRUCTION below). The backpack had 3 buttons that would play battle commands : Eat Lead, Cobra!, Yo Joe!, and Move out!. The fourth button played an electronic combat sound. The backpack ran on three A-76 button size batteries - included with the figure.

Variations:
There are no known variations of General Hawk.
|
Body Construction:
General Hawk's body is entirely original - no parts were taken from other figures.
The entire mold was re-used to create General Tomahawk (2000) and General Tomahawk (v2) (2002).
Note that the backpack is not easily removable. To remove the backpack, the backpack needs to be opened by unscrewing the four visible screws. Once the backpack is opened, inside are four long screws that attach the backpack to the figure.
