Carded Figure

Cobra Commander's Filecard

Figure Description:

Cobra Commander (v5) was released carded as part of the tenth series (1991) as part of the Talking Battle Commanders. He was discontinued domestically in 1992.

Versions of Cobra Commander:

Accessories:

Cobra Commander came with a black rifle, a black missile launcher, two removable black missiles, and a black figure stand.

The black backpack was permanently attached to the back of the figure and could not be removed (except with a screwdriver, see BODY CONSTRUCTION below). The backpack had 3 buttons that would play battle commands : I'll get you!, Vipers attack!, and Cobra!. The fourth button played an electronic combat sound. The backpack ran on three A-76 button size batteries - included with the figure.

  • Variations:

There are no known variations of Cobra Commander.

    Body Construction:

Cobra Commander's body is entirely original - no parts were taken from other figures.

The entire mold was re-used in 2000 to create Cobra Commander (v9).

Cobra Commander's head, front torso, arms, waist, and legs were recolored and re-used in 1993 to create Cobra Commander (v6). The waistpiece was also re-used in 2000 to create Rip It.

Note that the backpack is not easily removable. To remove the backpack, the backpack needs to be opened by unscrewing the four visible screws. Once the backpack is opened, inside are four long screws that attach the backpack to the figure.
