ARCTIC ATTACK SOLDIER
Series: Seven (1988)
Blizzard was released carded as part of the seventh series (1988). He was also sold in 1989 and discontinued domestically in 1990.
Left-over Blizzard figures were eventually released through some strange channels and ended up as prizes at Chuck E. Cheese pizza/arcades and carnivals around the country as "Skeeball" prizes in 1992 and 1993.
Blizzard came with a white and blue helmet, a black backpack sled, two black ice shoes, two black skis, a white machine gun, a white pistol, and two black handles that attached to the backpack.
There are holes in the side of the backpack where the handles attach. There are holes underneath where either the snow shoes or the skis can be attached.
Instructions how to assemble the backpack were printed on the cardback behind the action figure.
Birthplace: Wolfboro, New Hampshire
Primary Specialty: Arctic Warfare Training Instructor
Secondary Specialty: Infantry
Blizzard led an experimental security team based at Thule, Greenland for an entire winter. Their objective was to determine what kind of training and conditioning worked best to prepare men for combat in Arctic conditions. They found that training and conditioning had little effect. Only the hardest and meanest men made it through the course, and Blizzard was the hardest and meanest of the bunch.
"The Arctic is totally unforgiving, You make one little mistake, you've had it. The cold makes you tired, and being tired makes you careless, and being careless makes you a statistic. Blizzard doesn't make mistakes and doesn't get careless; he wants to make the other guy the statistic."
Blizzard could be found with lighter brown paint applications and a "Made in Hong Kong" copyright stamp, or with darker brown paint applications and a "Made in China" copyright stamp.
Blizzard's body is completely original - all new body parts.
