Maverick was first released carded invidually as part of the Battleforce 2000 subset of G.I.Joe at the very end of the sixth series (1987). In 1988 he was available carded in a special two-pack with Blocker and was discontinued the following year.
Even if they are not listed in the 1987 catalog, the Battleforce 2000 figures are considered part of the 1987 series since they made it to toy shelves in the 1987 calendar year. Be aware that some toy listings will list Maverick as having been released in 1988.
