Filecard Information

File Name: Harry Nod
Birthplace: Grim Cape, Tasmania

There are devils in Tasmania and Ripper is probably the meanest of them all. Was expelled from nursery school for extorting candy from his schoolmates and spent most of his adult life in various correctional institutions. He is a professional criminal motivated by greed and a malignant dislike for the niceties of civilization.

Specialty and M.O.*: Edged weapons and cutting tools. Is known throughout the swamps for using his blade like a cross between a fireman's axe and a can opener to unlock gates and crack safes.
*Modus Operandi

Variations

There are two versions of Ripper's filecard.

One version of the filecard says, "He is a professional cirminal motivated by greed and a malignant dislike for the niceties of civilization." The second version of the filecard appends "- except for motorcycles" to the text.

Featured In

Ripper was featured in several of the various media of GI Joe through the years, including Trading Cards, Comic Books, Cartoons and Commercials.

Body Construction

Ripper's body is completely original - all new body parts.

Note that Ripper's head only turns left and right - it does not have the head "ball" that allowed a figure's head to swivel back and forth. Other figures from this series had the new head "ball." It's clear that this figure was designed in 1984.

International Releases

Takara released Ripper in Japan in 1986.

In India, two versions of Ripper were released - one version had a green shirt with purple spots, while the other version had a purple shirt.
